INTRODUCTION
Learners to sing a familiar song of their choice.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT (Assessment as learning)
Step 1: Play a recording of different types of songs for listening and guide learners to talk about the occasions when the songs are performed and the message they contain.
Step 2: Guide the learners to identify the different types of songs according to purpose/message, style of performance and occasion when they are performed.e.g lullabies, story songs, and sacred songs.
Step 3: Guide the learners to sing relevant familiar songs to illustrate the type of song and the message contained in the song. E.g. Lullaby “u kira mwana”.
Step 4: Learners to act out and role play the content of songs as they sing.e.g “crossing the road”.
