INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
_ The paper should be given to the candidates one hour to the start of the examination
_ During the one hour candidates are expected to make sketches on the chosen alternative
_ The paper has two alternative sections A and B. A candidate is expected to answer only one
question from any alternative
_ In alternative A, the use of geometrical instruments is prohibited, while in alternative B, the
use of geometrical instruments is permitted.
_ Write your name and index number at the bottom right hand side on a margin of 5cm running
at the bottom of the cartridge paper provided.
Answer only one question from either alternative A or B
1. ALTERNATIVE A
PAINTING AND DRAWING
The use of geometrical instruments is prohibited in this section
The working area should measure 60cm by 50cm

Using paint and brushes OR biro pens, make a pictorial composition on the theme:
“peace and reconciliation”
OR
Using biro pens depict the following scene, “a hot afternoon at the motor vehicle open
air garage”
2. ALTERNATIVE B
GRAPHIC DESIGN
The use of geometrical instruments is permitted in this alternative
The working area should be 60cm by 40cm
EITHER
Make a poster in four colours (colour of the working surface inclusive) on your schools
cultural activities presentation day
OR
Design a book jacket in three colours on a science fiction novel
