2. This paper consists of three sections A, B and C.
3. Answer all questions in both section A and B and any two questions from section C.
4. All dimensions are millimeters unless otherwise stated.

SECTION B (30 marks)

This question is compulsory. Candidates are advised to spend not more than one hour on this question.

11. Figure 7 shows parts of a machine component drawn in first angle projection. Assemble the parts and draw, FULL SIZE, the following:
a) Sectional front elevation along the cutting plane B-B;
b) End elevation;
c) Insert three leading dimensions.
Unspecified dimensions are left to the candidate’s discretion. Hidden details are not required.

Answer any two questions from this section

12. Figure 6 shows the mouth of a cup having 45mm and a handle protruding 10mm.


If the cup is rolled on the surface AA for one complete revolution, construct the locus of point X on the handle. (15mks)

13. Figure 9 shows a pictorial view of a machined block.

Draw a FULL SIZE in third angle projection, the three orthographic views of the block. (15mks)






14. Figure 10 shows a plan of a guard house.
