SECTION A (30 MARKS)
1. Distinguish between catabolic and anabolic reactions. Describe the foods required for proper metabolism.
2. Define the term feedback mechanism and discuss its essential components.
3. Outline the process of photo phosphorylation.
4. Describe the main factors that affect basal metabolic rate in animals.
5. With the aid of a well-labelled diagram, explain how photo systems I and II operate together.
6. Briefly describe how CO2 is fixed in C4 plants (Illustrate your answer with a formula)
7. What is the role of transketolase during re-arrangement of sugar phosphates. Give an example.
