INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:-
_ Answer three questions only
_ Questions one and two are compulsory
_ In question three choose only one of the optional texts you have prepared on
_ Where a candidate presents work on more than one optional text only first one to appear will be
marked.
_ Each of your essays must not exceed 450 words.
_ All answers to be written in the answers booklet provided.
This paper consists of 2 printed pages. Candidates should check to ascertain that both pages are printed as indicated and that no questions are missing.
1. IMAGINATIVE COMPOSITION (COMPULSORY) (20MKS)
Either
a) Write an essay on the causes of food shortage in Kenya and discuss how this problem can
be solved permanently.
Or
b)Write a story to end with the following sentence:

was worthwhile”

Wak and Stella in the play “Shreds of Tenderness”.

(c) Novel
VELMA POLLARD: ‘Homestretch’

Pollard. Write an essay to confirm the truth of this statement
