SECTION A
1a)I)Define the following terms;

*A Schmitt trigger
II)Explain the operation of the two types of latches using the block symbol and the truth
table. (7 marks)
b)I)Explain the operation of S-R flip flop and state any ONE of its application.

II)List any two differences between asynchronous and synchronous counter. (6 marks)

c)I)Draw a circuit diagram of a stable multivibrator using NAND gate.
II)Explain the operation of the circuit in (I) above. (6 marks)

d) Explain the working of a half adder with the help of logic symbols and truth table.
