1. Write out the key signatures of the following keys:
i) B Flat Major
ii) E Flat Major
iii) C Sharp Major
iv) F minor
v) D minor
2. Using the bass clef, write out the following scales:
a) F harmonic minor
b) B melodic minor
c) F sharp Major
d) A flat Major
e) D flat Major
3. On the manuscript paper provided, write out the following traids:
a) Dominant triad in the key of G Major, second inversion
b) Supertonic triad in the key of C Major, root position
c) Subdominant triad in the Key of B flat Major, first inversion
e) Submediant triad in the key of E flat Major, root position
4. On the manuscript paper, write out the following intervals:
a) Perfect fifth with lower D as the bottom note
b) Major third with lower E flat as the bottom not
c) Perfect fourth with G flat as the bottom note
d) Minor third with lower E as the bottom note
e) Major seven with B flat as the bottom note

SECTION ONE
2. Listen carefully to the rhythm that will be played and notate it correctly on the manuscript
paper provided. The rhythm will be played through three times.
2. Five intervals will be played melodically. Listen carefully and describe them.
3. Listen to the five triads that will be played and indicate whether they are major or minor.
4. Five triads will be played in different positions. Identify and write down their positions.
5. Listen to the melody that will be played and write it down on the manuscript paper provided.
The key and time signature of the music will be provided.

1. A four bar melody will be given for sight singing. Look through it and sing it correctly.
