a) Why is it important to understand the current processes before embarking on re-engineering? (5 marks)

b) Operations processes differ on the variety of their output. Discuss the contribution of variety production to production cost. (5 marks)

d) Using a service of your choice explain the term “customer experience” (5 marks)

e) Discuss the ways in which an organization can increase capacity by shifting or stimulating demand. (5 marks)

a) Managing a diverse workforce can be a strength or a weakness in operations management. Explain. (5 marks)

b) Ideal service capacity utilization is approximately 70%. Explain why quality of service falls when capacity utilization approaches 100%. (5 marks)

c) Discuss the marks of a good layout for manufacturing or back office operations. (10 marks)
