SECTION A
1. Discuss the “Indian question” in Kenya during the colonial period.
2. In what ways did the authority of the pre-colonial African chief’s change with the inception of the colonial rule in Kenya? What legal framework was put in place to reflect the new developments?
3. Examine the colonial land and labor laws and their impact in Kenya.
4. Examine the factors that led to the British colonization of Kenya.
SECTION B
5. In what ways did the Second World War contribute to the enhancement of legal and constitutional reform in Kenya during the colonial period?
6. “The Mau Mau fighters may have lost the battle but they won the war.” Assess this statement in the light of the barrage of reform as introduced in colonial Kenya in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
7. Trace the process and effort towards the adoption of the Kenya Constitution (2010).
8. In your opinion, is Kenya legally justified to withdraw from the Rome Statute given the 2013 International Criminal Court (ICC) proceedings in The Hague?
