1. Explain why acorn worms and tunicates are referred to as hemichordates.
2. Describe the evolutionary significance of hagfishes and lampreys.
3. Explain how elasmobranchs are adapted to life in the open ocean.
4. Outline the characteristics that distinguish ray- finned fishes (Actinopterygii).
5. Describe the structure and functions of the swim bladder in bony fishes.
6. State three types of movement exhibited by bony fishes and explain the behavior of catadromous and anadromous fishes.
7. Discuss the benefits of fishes to humans and the threats to fisheries in Kenya.
8. Explain how the amphibian integument functions as a respiratory organ, of osmoregulation organ and anti- predator defense organ.
9. Briefly discuss the evolutionary relationship between reptiles and birds.
10. Draw and label a clear diagram of the reptilian cledoic egg, and indicate the evolutionary significance of the egg.
11. State the functions of the yolk and the allantois of the avian egg.
12. State 5 general characteristics of the class mammalian.
13. Describe the marsupial group of mammals.
14. Briefly explain why reptiles are not found in the Antarctica lands.
15. Name 2 species of migratory aquatic birds and 2 species of obligate marine mammals and state advantages of migration in species.
