Q1. (a) Describe briefly the role of circulating lipids in the human body. (5 marks)
(b) Explain why the knowledge of Lipid Biochemistry is important in understanding the current biomedical areas of Public Health in concern. (5 marks)

Q2. Discuss the role of complex carbohydrates in Human Nutrition and Health. (10 marks)

Q3. Describe briefly the deleterious effects as well as beneficial properties of the following antinutrients or toxicants on human health and their sources in foodstuffs.
(i) Cyanogens
(ii) Flatulence factors
(iii) Glucosinolates
(iv) Polyphenols and tannins (5 marks each)

Q4. Identify and outline the common specific interactions between calcium and other nutrients during absorption in the intestines. (10 marks)
