Why do we write non-fiction?

Expound on the distinct characteristics of news features.

What are the elements of a human interest article?

Imagine you are the news reporter for the People Daily; write feature leads for the following statement:

Street children in Mombasa yesterday protested against the Attorney General’s decision to reduce a charge from murder to manslaughter. A businessman in Mombasa has killed their colleague.

Dickson Mbugua calls off an intended matatu strike.

A 27 –year –old mother of two was seriously injured in a grisly road accident. In the same accident a two-year-old child died while an old man escaped unhurt.

Mwai Kibaki attended the colorful wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Kijana Wamalwa. He urged couples to be faithful to one another and to exercise patience for marriage is not a bed of roses.
