Question Two
You are a community health officer in charge of Simba County. Describe how you can use demographic data to develop an effective malaria intervention programme for the county. (10mks)

Distinguish any two (2) of the following demographic terms and concepts:
Crude birth rate and general fertility.

Lifespan and life expectancy.

Describe the sex ratio patterns observed in the populations of most African communities. (10mks)
Question Five
You are the community health officer for Kibra County whose population in 2009 was 25,000 with an annual growth rateof 2%. Calculate the county’s projected population in 2014. (10mks)

Question Six
Discuss the health implications that each of the following age-sex structures would have on their respective economies:
Expansive population
Constructive/stationery population
For each of the identified implications highlight on the possible and plausible solutions. (25mks)
Question Seven
Describe how the Mosley and Chen proximate factors can be applied in determining mortality levels of a community that you are very familiar with. (25mks)
Question Eight
Explain the effects of high population growth on the health and nutritional status of your community. What suggestions can be proposed in an effort to address these effects? (25mks)
