One can safely say that the expectations of media owners vary from those of journalists and audiences.

What are the expectations of media owners in Kenya?

Question Two

Describe the characteristics of FOUR microphone types found in a recording studio and explain how the characteristics are suited to specific functions.

’The Lazy Man’

The lazy man knows where the soup is sweet;

Read the poem above and explain how you would use radio to produce it for an audience of 12 year olds in school. Describe the introduction, music selected, special effects and narrator`s text and voice type. (20marks)

Question Four

The interactive radio segment has become very popular in many FM radio stations in Kenya. Enumerate the advantages of this approach to

broadcasting. (10marks)

State the possible risks of this approach if it were to be part of a live broadcast?

Question Five
You have been invited to host an upcoming heavy weight boxing match between Kenya`s champion, Odulco and Ekweme, the Nigerian champion. Write down the radio commentary on the features of the boxers, starting with Ekweme in the Red corner and Odulco in the Blue corner, detailing their height weight, brief history, etc as a prelude to the opening bout. (20marks)
