1. State six key pillars of African Traditional beliefs. [3 marks]
2. In March 2010, relatives who had gone to collect a body of their dead relative from
Uganda started beating the lifeless body for allegedly refusing to be collected burial.
“Who killed you? Not us. Do you want to go home or not?” The relatives of the deceased
quarrel the dead body. Explain the incident from an African traditional perspective
[7 marks]
3. List and briefly explain ten attributes of God from the perception of African Traditional
beliefs [10 marks]
4. A group of unruly villagers in Kisii Nyarugenda villagers lynched Mrs Masoto. When
asked by the police, the villagers alleged that she bewitched a Pastor’s child. Explain how
the Witches were identified in African Culture. [10 marks]
5. Jebet a Standard eight candidate was forcefully circumcised in December 2009 as she
awaits her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education results. The ancient practice still
persists among the Marakwets partly because of the value Marakwet people placed on
female circumcision. Identify six reasons why the Marakwet of Kenya value female
circumcision as captured in Dr. Jacob Kibor’s research. Give biblical view on the same.
