1. Worship is a matter that lies in scriptures from beginning to the end.
a. Define the term worship using any 2 Hebrew and any 2 Greek terms (4 marks)

2. You have been asked to teach on a topic: the difference between New Testament worship and
Old Testament worship. Prepare your notes under the following topics:
a. Christian worship in spirit and in truth (5 marks)
b. Christian ministry is worship (4 marks)
c. Christians constitute a new temple (3 marks)
d. The context of congregational Christian worship is the church. (3 marks)
3. Worship of God in the tabernacle set the Israelites apart from the pagans and stressed
their relationship to God (Deut. 12) through sacred space, sacred rituals and sacred ministry.
a. Describe the three aspects in detail showing what was involved in each. (12 marks)
b. Show how we can apply these in church worship today. (3 marks)
4. Christian worship today largely borrows from the synagogue model.
a. In what ways did synagogue worship differ from Temple worship? (6 marks)
b. Explain any four activities that went on during worship in the synagogue. (4 marks)
c. What aspects of synagogue worship has the Church borrowed today? (2 marks)
d. State other aspects of worship which we have borrowed along the history of the

5. Not all worship is true worship
a. In solving problems at the church of Corinthians, Paul sets out clear teaching on
proper worship. Describe any four “worship killers” he describes in I
Corinthians 11 - 14 (12 marks)
b. Describe the characteristics of wrong worship found in I kings 12:26 - 33
(5 marks)
6. The modern church is facing numerous challenges in seeking a balance in contextualizing
worship.
a. Discuss any five general guidelines that should regulate our congregational
worship practices. (10 marks)
b. Giving examples from scripture, analyse the following question: Shall we
design our worship in a way to make the nonbeliever feel comfortable, accepted,
pleased, and even entertained? (5 marks)
