5. Basically, there are four types of reading methods. List them down giving relevant
examples (15mks)

6. (a) In process description, arrangement of information so that the process can be performed
straight through without interruptions. Below is a process on how a breakfast cereal is
made. Order the description of the above process by writing the correct letter (a) to (h)
against the sentences that describe each stage of the processing.

i. It is stored in the silos
ii. There are woven into biscuits
iii. The wheat is harvested from the field
iv. Each biscuit is baked into brown
v. It is cut into thin strips.
vi. The grain is cooked to soften it.
vii. It is packed ready to be eaten.
viii. The wheat grain is transported into silos (8mks)

(b) A student was asked to write an essay on ‘How the Braille system was invented’. (The
Braille system is a method by which the blind can read by feeling raised dots on a
paper). Here are some of the hi notes, but they are a bit jumbled. Indicate the
chronological order.
a. Braille was accidentally blinded when he was ten years old.
b. Louse Braille was born in France in 1809
c. At the age of ten, he was sent to a special school for the blind.
d. In his early twenties, he was successful and invented the Braille system which is
still in use today.
e. He did not think much of the methods of teaching the blind which were used at the
special school.
f. Braille decided to see if he could invent a system similar to night writing to enable
the blind to read.
g. He met a captain Barbier who told him about a night writing system which
soldiers could use to read in the dark.
