b) In what ways do the main teachings in Judaism differ from those of the Christian faith?

c) Give two reasons why you think it is necessary for Christians to understand Judaism.

3. a) Briefly discuss the history of development of Islam. (7 Marks)
b) Explain how the main teachings in Islam differ from those of the ATR. (14 Marks)
c) What two common features do you see in the religions which you think you can be
useful to all human beings with regards to their relationship with God? (2 Marks)
4. You have encountered a follower of Marxism who believes that religion originated as a
results of “underlying sociological” factors. In view of the six theories put across regarding
the origin of religion, explain to him the Christian teaching on the same. State whether
you agree or disagree with the Christian teachings. (25 Marks)
5. a) Evaluate the strengths and weakness of the main teachings in Sikhism and Budhism with
regards to the salvation of humanity. (21 Marks)
b) What two advises would you give to the adherents of the religion with regard to God’s
salvific plan? (4 Marks)
6. a) Compare and contrast the teachings on salvation in “Hinduism” and “Christianity”.

b) In your own view, which of the two teachings represent the authentic way through which
humanity is assured of eternal life. Give reasons for your answer. (5 Marks)
