QUESTION ONE

(a) There are basically three approaches to the study of world religions. Explain what these
are and how they affect our attitudes as Christians towards other religions. (10 Marks)

(b) Explain briefly the importance of studying non-Christian Religions. (5 Marks)

(c) Discuss with reason the growth of non-Christian Religions around the World and particularly
in Africa. (10 Marks)


QUESTION TWO
(a) List the “Five Pillars” and briefly explain how each is practiced in Islam. (9 Marks)

(b) From the study of Islamic Religion, state at least Six principles one should keep in mind in
witnessing Christ to a Muslim. (6 Marks)

(a) Give a brief description of Gautama and beginning of Buddhism. (5 marks)
(b) Briefly discuss the life of Confucius and the beginning of Confucianism. (5 Marks)
(c) Give an overview of Shinto including some basic history and an explanation of the Kami
way. (5 Marks)

The doctrinal principles of Confucianism were based upon the uniqueness of human beings. Explain its
teachings in comparison with Christian faith. (10 Marks)
