1. (a) Identify and describe potential uses of a Job analysis. [8 Marks]
(b) Discuss the Human Resource Planning process. [12 Marks]
2. (a) Explain the advantage and disadvantage of using external methods of recruitment. [8 Marks]
(b) Outline clearly the scientific selection process pointing out the importance and relevance of each phase of the process. [12 Marks]
3. (a) The drive and motivation that explain human behavior is understood by studying various theories. Abraham Maslow compounded one such theory and called it ‘the hierarchy of needs. By use of appropriate examples assess the relevance of Maslow’s theory to the management of Human Resource. [12 Marks]
(b) Explain how you can evaluate training for effectiveness. [8 Marks]
4. (a) What is collective bargaining and what are the basic components of its process. [10 Marks]
(b) As a Human Resource Consultant you have been asked to review the human resource policy manual of an organization. Analyse the type of information you would request for and describe the Human Resource issues you would concentrate on. [10 Marks]
5. (a) With the advent of technology, most organizations maintain a Human Resource Management System. Discuss the merits of maintaining such a system and its contribution to enhancing productivity in an organization. [10 marks]
(b) Describe the factors that interfere with validity and reliability of performance appraisals. [10 marks]
