1. (a) Criminals are advancing their tactics and technology in an attempt to defeat the efforts put in physical security of various institutions today. Briefly discuss the counter measures in order to avert this menace. [12 Marks]
(b) Write short notes:-
(i) Barriers [6 Marks]
(ii) Fences [12 Marks]
2. (a) Briefly discuss the importance of facility inspection. [10 Marks]
(b) The introduction of sensors to alert security staff of presence of intruders replaced fencing. Explain the following external intruder detection sensors. [10 Marks]
(i) Fluid pressure
(ii) Electromagnetic cable
3. (a) Explain the usefulness of lighting in respect of physical security. [8 Marks]
(b) Discuss the following three types of lighting. [12 Marks]
(i) Incandescent
(ii) Fluorescent
(iii) Mercury vapor lamps
4. Access control into facilities has been classified into two types, the one through the private security officers and the other through mechanical or electronic device. Discuss in detail how the mechanical or electrical device is carried out. [20 Marks]
5. (a) Briefly explain the objectives of facility security personnel patrol [10 Marks]
(b) Surveillance devices replaced the traditionally known patrol since criminals have become hi-tech in their ways of committing crimes hence has necessitated hi-tech measures to counter them. Briefly discuss the advantages and disadvantages of closed circuit television (CCTV) [10 Marks]
