from texts studied in this course.

breaking away from shakles of colonialism”. Discuss this statement against a backdrop of
the sociological critical approach.
4. Provide a critical analysis of a short story of your choice from the anthology Half A
day and Other Stories.
5. Comment systematically on the use of imagery and symbolism in the provided poem, (I speak
for the bush by Everet Standa). How effective is it?
6. ‘Literature refers to colonical works of great men and women, printed and studied in reputable
academics the world over.’ Justify or disqualify this definition of literature drawing from
illustrations you have been exposed to in the course of this study.
