d) How the global and local competition has affected Microfinance Lending. Give two positive and two negative effects. (4Marks)

Nuru Microfinance has requested you to assist them to set Sustainable Interest Rate. They have provided you with the following data. (20Marks)
i) Average outstanding loan portfolio Kshs. 8000, 000
ii) Administrative expenses (i.e. all annual loan losses) are Kshs.200,000
iii) Cost of funds (includes cost of borrowed funds and required return on internal funds) is estimated at 17.5%
iv) Loan loss from past performance does not exceed 3%
v) The required capitalization rate (k) is 15%
vi) Investment income is expected to be Kshs. 120, 000
