2. a) Citing examples, distinguish between Macro-planning and Micro-Planning

b) Economists have ascertained that education plays a major role in socio-economic
development of a country. As a result, Kenya has undertaken various education
reforms since independence in order to ensure that it provides relevant education
to enable it gain a competitive advantage in the global market. Critically analyze
the contribution of education to the socio-economic development of Kenya.

3. a) What is “educated un-employment?” Explain four major causes of educated
unemployment in Kenya. (10mks)
b) Kenya has strived towards achieving the millennium goal of providing Education
For All. This is shown through the provision of Free Primary Education and

cent enrolment at primary level. Critically examine the factors affecting
enrolment at primary level in Kenya and suggest measures to be put in place to
enable Kenya achieve the goal of offering education for all. (10mks)
