1. By use of elaborate illustrations from any two plays covered in this course, clearly show how Europe influenced the growth and development of modern Africa drama.

2. Evaluate any two plays covered in this curse and clearly show how the plays have been influenced by African orature and modes of artistic renditions. [30 Marks]
SECTION B
3. Assess the effectiveness of any five dramatic techniques used in any two plays covered in this course. [20 Marks]
4. According to Ngugi Wa Thiong’o, literature does not grow out of a vacuum; it is given shape and direction by society. With reference to any two plays covered in this course, assess the validity of Ngugi’s observation. [20 Marks]
5. Evaluate Athol Fugard’s play Blood Knot and John Ruganda’s The Floods to Show the effectiveness of the technique of ‘controlled experiment’ as used by the two playwrights. [20 Marks]
