b) (i) Mandela, who was imprisoned for two decades, became the president of his country.

3. Giving an example, explain the difference between a phrase and a clause. (4 Marks)
4. Identify and correct the errors in the following sentences.
(a) Studying the history of Eart Africa is interesting, I am learning many fact I did
not know about Kenya, also I am discovering more about Uganda and Tanzania.
(b) Matatus take on too many passengers, they go too fast, they show disregard for
people walking along the roads, there should be law’s to control them!
5. Edit the following sentence fragments to make good English sentences. (2 Marks)
