3. (a) Name two carcinogenic organic compounds and give their main sources. (3 marks)
(b) Explain why ‘Soot’ is a toxic particulate? (2 marks)
(c) Name the sources “of soot.” (3 marks)
4. (a) Discuss the photochemical reactions of (i) SO2 gas (ii) NO gas (iii) Cl2 (3 marks)
(b) Explain using equations the formation of ozone gas in the atmosphere? (1 mark)
(c) Explain the importance of ozone gas and how it can be depleted by gaseous pollutants.
