1. Explain why Martin Luther’s background may have influenced him to reform the church in the 16th century.
2. The 16th century Protestant Reformation acted as an eye opener. Why do you think the history of the reformation is significant in Kenya today?
3. To what extend did the catholic doctrines of Trans-substantiation and the selling of indulgences contribute to the Protestant Reformation? Briefly describe the Reformers’ teaching on these doctrines.
4. “The blood of the Martyrs is the seed of the church” (Tertullian). Critically examine this statement in relation to the Reformation in Scotland.
5. Discuss John Calvin’s teaching on the “Doctrine of Predestination’ and show the effect of this doctrine to Christian Mission today.
