Answer FOUR Questions. Question ONE is compulsory.

1. (a) Describe the political, Economical and spiritual context under which Christianity
flourished in its crucial beginning years. (15 Marks)

(b) “Mathew uses more Old Testament quotations and allusions (almost 130) than
any other book in the New Testament”. Explain the goal Mathew intended to
achieve by taking such an initiative. (5 Marks)

(c) Explain how faith, works and salvation are related from a theological point of
view. (3 Marks)

(d) Explain why the book of Acts should really be regarded as “The Acts of the
Holy Spirit”. (2 Marks)

2. Mark 10:45 says, “For even the son of Man did not come to be served, but to
serve, and give his life as a ransom for many”. Based on this text, discuss briefly
the mission Jesus Christ came to accomplish and the role Christians need to play
as they join Jesus Christ in his mission. (15 Marks)

3. First Timothy and Titus are rich in principles that are relevant to every Christian
Worker and Christian church. Discuss at least Six of these principles while indicating
their application in the Christian context today. (15 Marks)

4. “Christian brotherly love and forgiveness can really work even in situations of
extraordinary tension and difficult.” Respond to this statement using illustrations from
Paul’s epistle to Philemon. (15 Marks)

5. (a) Compare and contrast the Nature of sacrifices under the Mosaic Law and the
sacrifice of Jesus Christ as explained in Hebrews 10:1-18. (12 Marks)

(b) What theological conclusion(s) can you draw from the above contrast? (3 Marks)


6. Explain why the book of Revelation can correctly be referred to as “The Revelation
of Christ”. Support your reason with scripture references. (15 Marks)
