e) Discuss three environmental impacts of biomass fuel exploitation. (3 marks)
f) Discuss three factors that you consider desirable for a producer gas. (3 marks)
g) Explain how producer gas purification can be achieved. (4 marks)
h) Cite two examples of liquid fuels. (2 marks)
i) Explain in detail how ethanol can be made from corn. Indicate the various steps, yeasts
used and the roles played by the yeasts in the process. (5 marks)
j) Using the equation below, calculate the amount of ethanol that can be made from 2 tons
of a feedstock containing 83% starch in a production plant with a conversion efficiency
of 86.1%. (3 marks)
