2. a) List, and explain five functions of the Holy Spirit in an individual. (11 Marks)
b) In what two ways can an individual live in such a way that the Holy Spirit
can use him or her. (4 Marks)

3. a) Vividly explain how salvation occurs in individuals according to Erickson,
taking into account the following terms: Regeneration, Conversion,
Justification and Glorification. Give Scriptural references for your answer.

b) What are the two benefits that come upon individual’s reception of Christ as
Lord and Savior? (4 Marks)

4. a) Outline, and explain each of the Calvanistic and Armenian’s view on
salvation. Which of the two views, if any do you think is biblically viable,
and why? Support your answer with scriptural references. (25 Marks)

5. a) List, and explain four functions of the church. (8 Marks)
b) Mention, and explain the four forms of the church government discussed by
Erickson? In your own view, what is the form of church government taught in
the Scripture? (8 Marks)
c) Explain the differing interpretation of the Lord’s Supper advanced in the
Chirstian Church today with regards to salvation of humanity. Which of the
views, if any, is biblically sound and why? Give Scriptural support for your
answer. (6 Marks)

d) Give three reasons why you think it is important for a believer to participate in
the Eucharist. (3 Marks)



6. a) What is personal eschatology? (2 Marks)
b) Give three views regarding the state of the soul at the intermediate state.
(8 Marks)
c) Mention, and explain the various views regarding the order in which events
shall appear at the end of the world. Which of the views, if any do you think is
biblically viable, and why? Give Scriptural support for your answer.

d) In what two ways can believers ensure that they prepare adequately for the
return of Christ? (2 Marks)
