Instructions:
Answer question one and any other two questions.
Question One
For ECED teachers to be effective, they need to understand the unique attributes of human language. Discuss any such attributes and how ECED teacher can incalculate them in children. (20mks)
Question Two
Using a cartoon box and old newspapers, write a 30 minutes ECED languages activity less plan detailing the activities and techniques you used to teach any two language skills. (20mks)
Question Three
Compare B.F Skinners (1957) behavioral theory and N. Chomsky’s( 1957 innotess hypothesis in respect to language acquisition, citing their strengths and weaknesses (20mks)
Question Four
Discuss how you can use the following teaching/learning strategies to teach the language skills indicated against it.
Field trips for writing skills
Inviting a resource person for reading skills
Narration for overlistening skills
Role play for creativity skills

Question Five
Discuss the following developmental milestones in writing among children in ECED.
Pre-alphabetic writing and non-representatinal drawing. (5mks)
Alphabetic writing and representational drawing.
(5mks)
Discuss any three research based findings that can enhance emergent reading and three that can hinder it.
(6mks)
Outline any indicators that can point to hearing impairment in children aged between one and two years.
(4mks)
