SECTION A (COMPLUSORY- 40MARKS)
1. a) What does the knowledge of language entail as far as phonetics and phonology is
concerned? (5marks)
b) How does the above address the notoriously confusingly nature of the English spellings?

2. a) Use appropriate examples to distinguish the following concepts:
i) Vowels and consonants.
ii) Voiceless sounds and voiced sounds (8marks)

3. a) Use an elaborate diagrammatic representation to describe the different articulators
