(i) What is your understanding of supply chain management as used in agribusiness sector? [4 Marks]
(ii) Explain the relationship of transaction cost and the supply chain in an agro-based industry. [4 Marks]
(iii) Giving practical examples in our Kenya agricultural production systems discuss the various types of supply chain management. [12 Marks]
(iv) Discuss the key element in the agro-supply chains. [10 Marks]
QUESTION TWO
(i) What is lean management as used in the concept of outsourcing and what does it aim to achieve? [3 Marks]
(ii) Global completion has lead organizations to outsourcing, discuss the different forms of outsourcing. [6 Marks]
(iii) Explain how you would use value addition to improve the income of agriculture producers in Kenya. [6 Marks]
(iv) What is the implication of backward and forward linkages between agro-industries and agricultural production. [5 Marks]
QUESTION THREE
Porter (1985) differentiates value chain management into two categories. Explain these categories and show what is involved in each category giving examples of each and referring to tea production supply chain all the way to a consumer in Pakistan.
