1. (a) Explain the purpose of tests and measurement to an agriculture teacher.

(b) With a suitable example in each case, state the scales of measurement from the simplest to the most complex. [8 marks]
(c) (i) Describe the characteristics of a good instructional objective.
[5 marks]
(ii) Write two lesson objectives at the comprehension level in any topic in agriculture. [2 marks]

(b) Explain the necessity of a table of specification in test construction. [4 marks]
(c) Construct a 50-item table of specification for an achievement test in agriculture
in the following topics: Soil fertility (10 lessons), Animal nutrition (10 lessons), Animal health (10 lessons) Crop production (20 lessons) in the following levels of objectives in the cognitive domain: knowledge (40 %), Comprehension (30%), Application (20%) and higher order outcomes (10%). In the behavioural content cells, include the number of items. Let the number of items in each topic be guided by the time taken in teaching. [10 marks]
