The news values that we know tend to orient stories to the elite, the urban-based, the rich and famous.
Give reasons why the poor, the rural-based majority seldom get covered in the national news.

Give five instances or events that make headlines involving the poor rural-based folk in Kenya.

Question Two
Write a short radio news story on the fate of 30 men who ate uninspected meat in Thika. The meat was infected with the dangerous germs of Anthrax that causes death if untreated immediately. State the number of fatalities, those in intensive care and what is happening to the majority. What are the reactions from their families and friends? What do the doctors say? What about the public health officer? (20 marks)
Question Three
There was a huge explosion inside a busy supermarket in downtown Nairobi. There were many people inside the shop and others outside the building. Describe the scene the nature of injuries, the confusion, the police reaction, the behavior of shoplifters and pickpockets. Introduce and conclude your story. (20 marks)

Describe the court appearance of a famous local politician who has been accused of hate speech by:
Giving the background to the topic of hate speech.
