Myth of the end (eschatology)
Myth of cultural heroes.
Identify and explain five principle characteristics of proverbs while comparing them with riddles.

Characters in oral narratives play a central role in its classification and plot development. Explain the procedure followed by oral artists in the general presentation of characters in oral narratives. Cite examples from oral narratives from East Africa. (20mks)

Question Three
Citing examples from the proppian taxonomy, show how oral narratives diffuse from different communities and common motifs appear in narratives from different parts of the world. (20mks)

Question Four
Women are presented as objects of male ego and causes of evil among men in African oral literature. Citing examples from Swahili proverbs and Kenya oral narratives show the validity of this statements. (20mks)

Question Five
"Classification is considered a fluid process in oral literature" show how etic based classification and emic based classification have attempted to stream line the process. (20mks)
