2. This is a CLOSED BOOK exam. No reference materials are allowed in the exam room.
3. No mobile phone is allowed in the exam room ( make sure to switch it off and leave it with the invigilator if you carried one)

Question ONE-Compulsory- (30 Marks)

1. (a) Wote secondary school intends to purchase computers to be used in the school.

i. State four application software that must be installed in those computers.

ii. Identify five application areas where the computers can be used in the
school. (5mks)

iii. Computers face various security threats. Identify four types of threats and control measures the school should employ in each case. (8mks)

(b) The school intends to connect the computers to the internet.
iv. As an IT professional advice them on the four major components that are required to make internet accessible. (4mks)

v. Explain three services the school will benefit from after installing the internet. (6mks)
vi. Identify three search engines students can use to easily search for the information in the internet. (3mks)
