a) Explain your understanding of the term “economic activity” as used in economics and economic geography (3marks)
b) Explain the basis on which the main classifications of economic activities differ from each other (2marks)
c) Discuss and distinguish between primary and secondary economic activities (6marks)
d) As a spatial science, there are three views or perceptions of geographic space used in determining the distribution of economic activities. Discuss these three views or perceptions of space in economic geography. (9marks)

a) Explain your understanding of the term “economic system” as used in economics and economic geography. (3marks)
b) Briefly discuss the following economic systems:
i) Traditional economic systems (5marks)
ii) Mixed economic system (5marks)
c) In studying economic activities, economic geography uses an economic-geographical approach based on three key spatial concepts. Identify and discuss these three key spatial concepts. (7marks)

a) Explain your understanding of the term “spatial interaction” as used in facilitating production, distribution, exchange and consumption of economic activities on the earth surface. (2marks)
b) Discuss the spatial factors used in analyzing the distribution and location of economic activities. (6marks)
c) Spatial interaction occurs primarily because of location of varying economic activities in space. However, this only happens if a number of conditions for spatial interactions are fulfilled. Using suitable examples, discuss these conditions. (12marks)

a) Discuss and critique the ideographic (traditional) studies used in economic geography in explaining location of economic activities. (8marks)
b) Discuss the nomothetic studies used in economic geography to explain the location of economic activities. (12marks)
