SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS (50 minutes , 3 marks each)

3. In a genetics class of 50 students, 35% were found unable to taste phenylthiocarbamide. Assuming 2 alleles T and t, calculate genotypic and allelic frequencies.

1. Factors that alter genetic equilibrium.
2. Mutations that cause change in chromosome number.
3. Cytoplasmic genetic systems.
4. In peas b = brown leaves (+ = green), w = wrinkled seeds (+ = round) and y = yellow seeds (+ = plain). A cross is made between brown leaved, wrinkled seed and yellow seeded plant with the wild type. The resultant F1 progeny is test crossed to a triple recessive. The following F2 progenies were obtained.
