A Japanese on tour in Kenya converted 780,000 million Japanese Yen to Kenya shillings
for hotelaccommodation and other miscellaneous expenses while in the country. He was
in Kenya for 20days and stayed in a hotel which he was paying sh. 17,000 per day full
board. He also hired a car forwhich he was paying sh. 7000 per day and bought curios
worth sh. 14000. He donated the balanceto a children’s home in Nairobi. Taking 100
Japanese Yen to be equivalent to Ksh. 85.35, calculate:
(i) His total expenditure on accommodation and car hire in Japanese Yen. (5 Marks)
