(a) Using diagrams, differentiate randomized complete block design from the Latin square (6Marks) (b) A researcher wanted to determine the effectiveness of four different types of fertilizers A, B, C and d on the yields of a given Tomato variety. To accomplish this, the yield in crates per plot were determined but were repeated in different seasons. Perform an analysis of variance to determine at the 0.05 significance level whether there is a difference : (i) Between the fertilizers (ii) Between the seasons. (14Marks)

(b) A researcher has noticed that her farm (plot) is experiencing soil fertility variation. He has decided to test the effect of four fertilizers A,B,C, and D on wheat yields using a Latin-square design in order to eliminate the error due to soil fertility variation. The numbers in the table shows the yields in bags per acre. Perform a ANOVA to determine whether there is a difference between the fertilizers at significance levels (a) 0.0.5 (b) 0.01 (12Marks)
