(a) With examples explain what breakeven point is and its importance. (5 Marks) (b) A company that manufactures Robots produced two products ‘PACK’ and ‘QUANTA’ The following information was availed: Product ‘PACK’ Sh. Selling price per unit 10 Variable cost per unit 2 Fixed cost of operations per month 50,000 Product ‘QUANTA’ Sh Selling price per 12 Variable cost per unit 8 Fixed cost of operation per month 34,000
Required: (i) Calculate the break-even point of each product in units (4 Marks) (ii) Compute the profits of each product if sales in units are 20% above break-even point (8 Marks) (iii) Compute the profits of each product if sales promotion of Sh.5,000 is incurred on each product and as a result sales in units for each product increases by 50% above break-even point. (8 Marks)
