Giving examples, distinguish between:

(b) Distinguish between definitive hosts and intermediate hosts in parasitic infections.

(c) With the aid of a diagram, describe the life cycle of echinococcus granulosus, the dog

(d) List five different preventive measures designed to break transmission cycles in different
parasitic infections. (5 Marks)
(e) Differentiate between ectoparasites and endoparasites. (4 Marks)
(f) Give sample type needed for diagnosis in cases of infection by;
(i) Schistosoma haematobium. (1 Mark)
(ii) Amoeba abscess of the lung (1 Mark)
(iii) Kala-azar (1 Mark)

parasitic infection. Discuss different specimens selected for laboratory diagnosis of
different parasitic diseases. (15 Marks)
