b) State the rules to follow in grouping large data set. (5 Marks)
c) In a heterozygous cross where genetic theory led a researcher to expect tall and dwarf
people in the ration of 3:1 respectively. The researcher obtained 450 tall people out lf the
total 700.
i. State the null and alternative hypothesis (4 Marks)
ii. Calculate the expected values. (2 Marks)
iii. Test whether these results are consistent with genetic theory. (4 Marks)

QUESTION TWO (20 MARKS)
25 Anaemic children of same age were given a pharmaceutical drug preparation for 8 weeks and
each child’s change in body weight was recorde. It was found that the mean change in body
weight was 26.24kg from a population with a known mean weight of 24.8kg and a standard
deviation of 2.4kg.
i. State the appropriate null and alternative hypothesis.
ii. Perform the appropriate test at 0.05 level of confidence and answer the question whether
the drug administered reduced the body weight. (16 Marks)

a) Measurements of serum cholesterol (mg/100ml) and auterial calcium deposition
