1. Discuss the causes of deterioration of information materials and explain the preventive measures that can be adopted for the preservation of print and non-print materials.
2. What the factors you would consider when choosing a method of preserving or conserving information materials under your care?
3. Preservation and conservation activities have become an area of concern to contemporary scientists. Analyze why you think this should be the case and discuss the skills and competencies that information scientists should have in order to preserve their holdings.
4. Discuss the various reasons for the migration of information materials from one format to another and analyze the available methods for this migration.
5. Discuss the principles of preservation and conservation, explaining their relevance to the preservation of information materials.
6. Discuss the process of paper manufacture and point out its contribution to deterioration of paper records in information organizations.
