(a) Explain any four differences between Formal and Functional Grammars (8 marks)
(b) How does Halliday define language and why is the definition important? (6 marks)
(c) State the three metafunctions of language according to Halliday (6 marks)
(d) Show how the same function can be performed by more than one word class (4 marks)
(e) Give clauses in which the theme is an adverbial group and prepositional phrase (6 marks)
