SECTION A: Answer all Questions(40 Marks)
Q 1.Explain the meaning and significance of scientific research.
Q 2.Distinguish between research methods and research methodology.
Q 3.Describe the different types of research important in biomedical science
Q 4.Briefly describe the different steps involved in research process
Q 5.Explain the following terms in the context of research design
i.Extraneous variables
ii.Confounded relationship
iii.Research hypothesis
Q 6.Research designs employed in exploratory studies must be flexible but in descriptive studies, they have to minimize bias and maximize reliability. Briefly discuss.
Q 7.a)Explain the meaning and significance of sampling in research.
b)Explain the following terms important in sampling;
i.Sampling frame
ii.Sampling error
Q 8.Giving examples, describe qualitative and quantitative research.
SECTION B: Answer question 9(COMPULSORY) and EITHER question 10 OR question 11(30 Marks)
Q 9.A given community setting recorded an alarming number of cases presenting with disease "A". As a researcher, you are tasked with the responsibility to give the actual burden of the disease and suggest appropriate preventions strategies to be adopted by the Ministry of Public Health. Draft a document explaining how best you will go about this important task. (20 Marks)
