Q 1. a)Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) is a planning and decision making tool. Explain this statement. (6 marks)

b)How does EIA fit in the concept of sustainable development? (6 marks)

c)Describe FOUR types of checklists methods used in EIA. Give the advantages and disadvantages of using checklists methods. (12 marks)

d)Differentiate between screening and scoping in the EIA process (6 marks)

Q 2.a)Select any ONE project type listed below. Each project type has dimensions which make a full EIA mandatory.Identify TEN expected impacts on the environment from the project type selected. Impacts should be divided into three phases of the project.
