A. In Human Computer Interaction, evaluation is inseparable from design. Justify this (3 marks)
B. Explain why the study of cognitive psychology is central to effective interaction design(3 marks)
C. Explain the below interaction design goals (6 marks)
i. Usability

iii. Accessibility
C. Differentiate between reflective and experiential types of cognition.
Give two examples of each(4 marks)
D. What are mental models, and why are they important in interface design? (3 marks)
E. What is meant by Human Information Processing? (4 marks)
F. Highlight Norman's seven principles. (7 marks)

A. You have been hired by an Electricity Company to design a website to allow users apply for connectivity on line. Explain any four interface design goals that you would focus on when developing the site (12 marks)
B. Explain any two user centered approaches to design you would employ during contextual inquiry (4 marks)
C. Explain any two interaction styles you would employ when designing the site. Justify your choice of interaction style. (4 marks)

A. Explain the role of metaphors in conceptual design. Give two advantages and two problems of metaphors (6 marks)
B. For the below scenario, choose a suitable combination of input and output devices to best support the intended interaction. It may help to identify typical users or classes of user, and identify how the devices chosen support these people in their tasks. Explain the major problems that the input and output devices solve. (12 marks)

A. When designing any interface, one has to maximize on usability. Explain the three principles that support usability (6 marks)
B. Explain Donald Norman's model of interaction (7 marks)
C. As an HCI designer, one has to allow users to evaluate the design process. Explain
HCI 'UFO' methods and approaches that you would employ as a designer.
